User guide — creating a label
Follow the steps from top to bottom. The preview on the right instantly shows your changes.
1Select a product
In the highlighted field at the top, choose the product from the dropdown list. The mandatory data for that product — CLP description, allergens, UFI code, GHS pictograms — is then filled in automatically.
This data can then be freely edited if a given label needs something different — except the allergens, which are fixed to the product. Selecting a product is mandatory: labels can only be created for products in our range.
2Setting the appearance
- Label size: 74 × 74 mm (square) or 74 × 52 mm (landscape). The downloaded PDF will be exactly this size.
- Shape: square or circle.
- Font and text alignment. Alignment only moves the CLP description and codes; the other elements stay centered.
- Safety print margin (3 mm): the red dashed line marks the printable area. This is only a guide — it does not appear on the downloaded image.
3GHS pictograms
The hazard pictograms are set automatically when you select a product. To change them manually, click a pictogram in the bar: the highlighted (bright) symbols appear on the label, the faded ones do not.
4Filling in the label data
- Product name: the main text of the label. Use Enter to break it into multiple lines if it is long.
- Manufacturer: the manufacturer’s name (appears on a separate line at the bottom of the label).
- CLP description: the hazard statements. You can start a new line with Enter — it will break on the label exactly where it breaks in the field.
- Contains (allergens): the text shown after “Contains:”. This is fixed to the product and not editable (🔒), so the correct allergen information always ends up on the label.
- UFI code: the unique UFI identifier. Some products have no UFI code — in that case a warning appears below the field that an own PCN notification is required. This warning is only for you; it does not appear on the label.
- Weight / grams: the product’s weight (e.g. 50 g) — you always enter this yourself, as it can vary per product.
- Batch No. / LOT No.: the production number. It appears next to the weight on the label; if both are filled in, a “ | ” line separates them.
5Contact details
A single free-text field where you can enter the website, e-mail, phone number, address — or anything. You break lines with Enter as you want them to appear on the label: each on its own line, or several items on one line.
6Positioning and fine-tuning
- Content up/down: moves the whole text content together within the label (the red margin does not move).
- Footer position (from bottom): raises the manufacturer + contact + weight block together up from the bottom.
- Fine-tuning (font size): the font size is adjustable per element. The minimum everywhere is 6 pt. “Center image” adjusts the pictogram size.
7Saving and restoring my details
You can save the manufacturer and contact details (your recurring, constant data) so you don’t have to type them again next time. The three buttons:
- Save my details — saves the manufacturer and contact details to this browser. Next time, on the same computer, they load back automatically.
- Download to file — saves a small file (cimke-adataim.json) to your computer. You can keep it and use it on any other computer.
- Load from file — restores the manufacturer and contact details from a previously downloaded file.
8Download for printing
- Save PNG — an image file, good for sharing on screen or embedding.
- Save PDF — at the actual label size (74 × 74 or 74 × 52 mm); recommended for printing.
Generating the high-resolution image may take 1–3 seconds — this is normal.
